This application creates a file structure (kind of a semantic structure) on the top of the file system to make navigation easier.
Curator helps create a low cost, low overhead program that can improve access to documents. It will use folder structures to promote document organization. There is no need to move files from their existing locations. In most businesses one needs to depend on documents created and organized by different departments. Often you have to depend on documents stored in more than one folder location. The underlying file structure could be anything. If you need a logical structure/pattern to organize the files in a given way, you could do so on top of the files already stored. No change of business rules is required. Unlike other document management systems, Curator does not impose any structure or change of file locations. The tool is easy to use and organize.
The software runs on your local computer. There is no need for any specific servers or services running remotely. The interface is minimalistic and hence simple to use. The software utility makes use of users profile established by existing IT rules. No access rules need be changed. The tool will make the access quicker and easier. Document access is simplified as there is no need to navigate to folders. All related folders are brought into one window. There are sample libraries available with the download. These act as guides to implement the system. These include case studies on cars, schools, machine manufacture, etc. this is a very good tool and worth a try if you have a need.
